Ugh. Need to vent.

As you all know, I'm a hairstylist at a small chain salon. It's me, my manager, and another coworker who is part time (less than 25 hours a week)
Well. This said part time worker took a week off. Guess who was stuck with all the hours. Yep. Me. I don't care too much, but I'm 18 and working like a dog. Normally I work 40hrs a week, Tuesday, wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Well. I have been at work for over two weeks now, every. Day.
I was so excited that tomorrow (thurday) was my day off.
Aha hah. Too bad. My boss called me today and said I have a SIX hour meeting, an hour away tomorrow starting at 9am. Seriously?!
With my birthday being a week away (22nd) everyone has been pulling me different ways to do something with me I can't even take it!
I feel so burnt out, and can't take a vacation either.
Has anyone else felt this way? I feel like I'm loosing my mind!

Nope.
I get paid minimum wage plus commission and tips.
I think for the state of ohio, minimum wage plus tips is only 3.75 and hr.
We go by payperiod 1-15th and the 16 to the end of the month.
So I have to hit $200 in retail to get my 10% commission, and $250 to get the 15%
Plus, it goes by how many services we do an hour. A good services per hour, you get paid more.
At one point the part time girl made over $750 per payperiod, but that's because she was the old manager and has a massive clientele.

wow, minimun wage here is something like $7.25.

It's that way here for non tipped employees.
Sometimes I make a lot for my age, but I sometimes wonder if it's all worth it.
Everyone thinks I'm like 25 and married. I'm still young though!
I just want to live. You know?
Just drive. Do something. Go somewhere. But I can't.

No one really thinks about what we really do.
No holidays off, standing all day, working weekends, working late during the evening, and missing major events for everyone else. So thanks for tipping your stylist!
